About the Company
Our client is a highly respected providers of primary healthcare services in regional Australia. They are known for their culturally responsive, trauma-informed care and dedication to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal communities. They are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Midwife to join their committed team and contribute to the health and wellbeing of women and their families.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Midwife to step into a rewarding and impactful role delivering high-quality maternal and infant care in a culturally secure setting.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing direct midwifery care that is culturally safe, trauma-informed, and community-centred
* Working collaboratively with and supervising local Aboriginal Family Support Workers
* Coordinating antenatal and postnatal services, including liaising with hospitals
* Promoting continuity of care and early engagement with expectant mothers
* Supporting the ongoing development and evaluation of maternal health initiatives
* Reporting to the Family Health Manager and working closely with Community Health and Clinical Services teams
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
* Current registration as a Midwife with AHPRA
* Significant experience in culturally appropriate and trauma-informed midwifery care
* Proven leadership skills, particularly in remote or community-based settings
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including group facilitation
* Demonstrated commitment to professional integrity, privacy, and cultural safety
* The ability to build trust and rapport with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
