Mine surveyor
An exciting opportunity exists to join a large-scale, long-life underground mining operation as it transitions into full production ramp-up. Supported by modern processing facilities, this site offers long-term stability and the chance to be part of a growing underground mining team.
This is a permanent, site-based role operating on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor. You will play a key role in delivering accurate and reliable spatial data to support safe, efficient, and productive mining operations.
While the primary focus will be underground mining, there may be opportunities to support surface operations until their planned closure in early 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Survey Control & Compliance

Establish and maintain underground survey control networks.

Conduct routine check surveys to ensure accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
Underground Surveying & Mapping

Perform surveys of declines, development headings, stopes, and underground infrastructure.

Provide precise survey data to support drilling, blasting, and ore extraction activities.
3D Modelling & Mine Planning Support

Develop and maintain 3D models and mine plans.

Collaborate closely with mine engineers to optimise layouts, blast designs, and stope sequencing.
Volume Calculations & Ore Reconciliation

Calculate ore volumes, material movements, and stope progression.

Complete stockpile surveys and reconcile ore movement against production plans.

Support planned versus actual production reconciliation.
Survey Technology & Innovation

Operate, manage, and calibrate survey equipment including total stations, laser scanners, and UAV/drone systems.

Implement advanced surveying technologies and methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
About You
-
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline.

Proven experience working in a mining operations environment.

Underground mining experience is highly regarded.

Demonstrated capability in leading surveying activities within underground mining settings.

Proficiency in surveying software and GIS platforms; exposure to Deswik is advantageous.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, National Police Clearance, and Drug & Alcohol screening.
