Renewable Metals is redefining how the world recovers critical minerals.
We’ve developed a world-first alkali recycling process capable of recovering over 95% of metals from battery waste-cleaner, more efficient, and built for scale. Backed by leading climate-tech investors and government funding, we are now commissioning our large-scale demonstration plant in Perth, with full-scale operations targeted for 2026.
The Opportunity
This is not a BAU HR role.
Renewable Metals is scaling rapidly – from ~10 to 40+ employees – across plant operations, engineering, technical and corporate functions. That growth brings complexity: shift work, compliance, performance frameworks, and culture across very different workforce segments.
We are looking for a hands-on People & Culture Manager to build and run the people function.
You will work directly with the Head of Corporate Operations and leadership team to design and implement the systems, processes, and behaviours that underpin a high-performing organisation.
This is a build-and-operate role – not policy writing for the sake of it, but creating something that works in a live, operational environment.
What You’ll Own:
- End-to-end employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance, ER and offboarding
- HR infrastructure: policies, contracts, HRIS, compliance frameworks
- Payroll coordination and award compliance (including shift workforce complexity)
- Performance cycles, reporting, and leadership coaching
- Culture, engagement, and workforce planning as the business scales
About You:
You are a builder, not a passenger.
- 8+ years HR experience, ideally in industrial, manufacturing, or operational environments
- Proven experience setting up HR systems in a growing business
- Strong employee relations judgement and ability to operate independently
- Comfortable working across both plant floor and leadership level
