Poly Welders – Permanent | Rio Tinto Site

Our client is seeking experienced Poly Welders to join their team in long‑term, permanent roles on a Rio Tinto site in Western Australia. This is an opportunity to secure stable, ongoing work with a well‑regarded contractor supporting major mining and water infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing

  • HDPE/poly welding for mine site services and water infrastructure (butt, electrofusion and extrusion)
  • Setting up and operating welding equipment in line with procedures and specifications
  • Working with plumbers and other trades to install, test and commission poly pipelines
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, isos and work packs
  • Conducting pressure and leak testing, rectifying defects and completing QA documentation
  • Maintaining a strong safety focus, following all site and company procedures

Skills, experience and tickets

  • Proven experience as a Poly Welder in mining, civil or water projects
  • Nationally recognised welding competencies (highly regarded):
    • PMBWELD301 Butt Welding
    • PMBWELD302E Electrofusion Welding
    • PMBWELD309 Extrusion Welding
  • Construction White Card
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • High Risk Work Licences and plant tickets desirable (e.g. DG, CN, RB, skid steer, IT loader, chainsaw)
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment medical and site access requirements
