Poly Welders – Permanent | Rio Tinto Site
Our client is seeking experienced Poly Welders to join their team in long‑term, permanent roles on a Rio Tinto site in Western Australia. This is an opportunity to secure stable, ongoing work with a well‑regarded contractor supporting major mining and water infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing
- HDPE/poly welding for mine site services and water infrastructure (butt, electrofusion and extrusion)
- Setting up and operating welding equipment in line with procedures and specifications
- Working with plumbers and other trades to install, test and commission poly pipelines
- Reading and interpreting drawings, isos and work packs
- Conducting pressure and leak testing, rectifying defects and completing QA documentation
- Maintaining a strong safety focus, following all site and company procedures
Skills, experience and tickets
- Proven experience as a Poly Welder in mining, civil or water projects
- Nationally recognised welding competencies (highly regarded):
- PMBWELD301 Butt Welding
- PMBWELD302E Electrofusion Welding
- PMBWELD309 Extrusion Welding
- Construction White Card
- Valid driver’s licence
- High Risk Work Licences and plant tickets desirable (e.g. DG, CN, RB, skid steer, IT loader, chainsaw)
- Ability to pass pre‑employment medical and site access requirements
