Polywelder – FIFO

  • Join a leading civil contractor delivering Tier 1 mining projects
  • Ongoing work secured across multiple operations
  • 2:1 FIFO roster | 12-hour shifts | Immediate starts available

About the Role
We’re seeking experienced Polywelders to join a highly respected civil contractor delivering major pipeline infrastructure across Tier 1 mining operations in WA. You’ll be involved in large-scale water infrastructure projects for Rio Tinto and FMG – handling welds, tie-ins, and major pipeline construction.

Key Details

  • Roster: 2:1 FIFO | 12-hour day shifts

  • Competitive pay rates available

  • Sites: FMG & Rio Tinto (various Pilbara locations)

  • Start: Immediate | Multiple positions available

What You’ll Do

  • Operate McElroy (T500, T600, T900) and Dixon (600-1010mm) machines

  • Assist with pipeline installation, tie-ins, trenching, and backfill

  • Conduct QA checks and maintain accurate weld documentation

  • Work safely within site procedures and contribute to team performance

What You Need
Essential:

  • Valid Polywelding Ticket (within 2 years)

  • Experience across Dixon and McElroy welders (2-5 years preferred)

  • Experience using Data Loggers (Desirable)

  • Excavator, IT Loader, and Skid Steer tickets

  • Chainsaw and Dogging tickets

  • National Police Clearance (within 6 months or willing to obtain)

  • Ability to pass full pre-employment medical and LAB D&A

Desirable:

  • HR Licence

  • Rio Tinto / FMG inductions
