They are seeking a dedicated Prison Health Nurse to join their Northern Territory team and contribute to improving health outcomes for individuals within the correctional system.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to step into a rewarding and dynamic environment offering both challenge and professional growth.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to inmates in a correctional facility, ensuring care is delivered in line with best practice standards.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting health assessments, triage, and clinical care
* Administering medications and monitoring treatment plans
* Managing chronic diseases and acute presentations
* Responding to medical emergencies within the facility
* Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and patient records
* Collaborating closely with medical officers, mental health clinicians, and custodial staff as part of the broader healthcare operation
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
* Previous experience in correctional, emergency, remote, or primary healthcare settings (highly regarded)
* Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
* The ability to work autonomously within a secure environment
* Excellent communication skills and resilience
* Current National Police Clearance and relevant vaccinations
