The Exciting Opportunity:
The Positive Behaviour Support Team is responsible for delivering quality services to people with disabilities via integrated planning and direct individual support. They actually have a large WA based Behaviour Support Team with many advanced and proficient level practitioners, who will be on hand for your support and development.
Their Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners utilise an evidence-based / person-centred approach that will empower participants to achieve a meaningful and safe quality of life. This dynamic team is multidisciplinary, highly experienced and rapidly growing through new acquisition of clients – they have a culture of reflective supervision and professional development.
You will be responsible for:
- Getting to know your clients (mixed caseload) – meeting, listening and understanding what is important to them, things they enjoy, the choices they make, and what a good life looks like for them
- Restrictive Practices – Interim Behaviour Support/Safety Plan – this includes following all protocols and procedures for any regulated restrictive practices
- Creation of Evidence Based Behaviour Support Plan – this includes consultation with stakeholders, data gathering and analysis, behavioural functional assessment, support interventions, and protocol and procedures for any regulated restrictive practices
- Assessment – conduct assessments to identify behavioural challenges and their underlying causes
- Review of Current Plan – this includes full evaluation of a previous plan, consultation with stakeholders, data gathering and analysis, behavioural functional assessment and protocol and procedures for any regulated restrictive practices
What we are looking for:
- NDIS Registration at Proficient or Core Level as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner
- Tertiary qualification is helpful in a relevant Human Services area
- Demonstrated experience of the assessment and delivery of Services and report writing within the time frame
- A current and valid WA driver’s license, Working With Children (WWC) Check, NDIS Workers screen and First Aid certification
