Rehabilitation Counsellor or Psychologist
Occupational Rehabilitation Counsellor or Psychologist
Location: Parramatta
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $80k – $120k + super
About the Company
Work for Australia’s most experienced injury management and occupational rehabilitation service providers who are different to other occupational rehabilitation providers. Our client is a not-for-profit organisation and has been engaged in workers injury rehabilitation in NSW for over 45 years. They offer transparent injury management and return-to-work services, emphasising a worker-focused approach and strong ties to the trade union movement.
The Role
You will have the opportunity to join a friendly and cohesive team who are committed to helping their clients and families whilst actually caring for their own staff. You will be joining a Not For Profit organisation and not your typical Occupational Health Provide, who just wants you to simply ‘bill hours and make revenue’ for profit without consideration for your own Work/Life Balance and mental health.
As a NFP, they pour all their profits into building services and investing in the interests of injured workers and their families rather than simply making money. This organisation has a very caring culture and this is why they provide transparent step-by-step injury management and return to work services as they walk with their clients on the road to recovery. This is a very caring and kind environment where “client care” is placed above KPIs and making revenue.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support clients throughout their rehabilitation journey, becoming their advocate, voice and educator in a challenging process to recovery
- Completing a variety of assessments (Functional Assessments, Physical and Psychological, Workplace, Vocational, Activities of Daily Living) using your clinical skills & experience, including but not limited to initial, workplace and vocational assessments to review diagnosis, support treatment plans, address psychosocial barriers to employment and identify suitable employment opportunities until they recover and return to their pre-injury status or new employment
- Managing the RTW process using objective medical evidence including arranging and managing the agenda for panel & case conferences
- Providing advice to employers and insurers regarding the selection of suitable duties
- Interact and build relationships with health professionals, specialists, employers, insurers, unions and other key stakeholders to drive positive outcomes for clients
- Case management
- Working with employers and employees to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- Tertiary qualifications as a Psychologist or Rehab Counsellor
- Tertiary Qualification or Rehabilitation Diploma or equivalent qualification
- AHPRA or ASORC registration required
- Current Drivers Licence
- 12 month minimum – Occupational Rehabilitation experience is essential
What’s On Offer
In return, our client offers:
- Great company culture that promotes Work/Life Balance
- Low KPIs of 5 billable hours a day and caseload of 15 clients
- Work/Life Balance – 2 days in-office, 3 days WFH
- Salary ranges from $80-$120k + super depending on experience
- Realistic and achievable KPIs with a focus on quality services for injured workers
- Earn up to an additional 20% of your salary worth $10k-$15k extra per annum
- Work for a non-for-profit organisation
- Excellent training, webinars, seminars – promote upskilling and development
- Excellent career prospects and progression
- Smartphone and laptop included
- Kilometre reimbursement for travel – all Tolls Paid
- Supportive and experienced management team with no micro-management – large team with lots of support
