Rehabilitation Counsellor / Psychologist

The position for a Rehabilitation Counsellor or Registered Psychologist:
We are looking for an ASORC Registered Rehab Counsellor or Psychologist who has worked in the occupational rehabilitation area. You will have the opportunity to join a really friendly and cohesive team who are committed to helping their clients and families whilst actually caring for their own staff. You will be joining a Not For Profit organisation and not your typical Occupational Health Provide, who just wants you to simply ‘bill hours and make revenue’ for profit without consideration for your own Work/Life Balance and mental health.
Our client’s holistic approach, backed by a large multidisciplinary team, ensures that your client’s receive comprehensive support from starting their rehabilitation journey to full recovery. Very importantly, this means that you will receive lots of support, coaching, mentoring and training.
On a day to day basis you will:
- Support clients throughout their rehabilitation journey, becoming their advocate, voice and educator in a challenging process to recovery
- Completing a variety of assessments (Functional Assessments, Physical and Psychological, Workplace, Vocational, Activities of Daily Living) using your clinical skills & experience, including but not limited to initial, workplace and vocational assessments to review diagnosis, support treatment plans, address psychosocial barriers to employment and identify suitable employment opportunities until they recover and return to their pre-injury status or new employment
- Managing the RTW process using objective medical evidence including arranging and managing the agenda for panel & case conferences
- Providing advice to employers and insurers regarding the selection of suitable duties
- Interact and build relationships with health professionals, specialists, employers, insurers, unions and other key stakeholders to drive positive outcomes for clients
- Case management
- Working with employers and employees to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs
What you need to be considered:
- Tertiary qualifications as an OT / Physio or Exercise Physiologist, Psychologist, Social Worker or Rehab Counsellor (ASORC)
- AHPRA requirement for Psychologists, OT & Physio, ASORC or relevant association for Exercise Physiologists and Social Workers
- Current Drivers Licence
- 12 month minimum – Occupational Rehabilitation experience is essential
