Senior Level Behaviour Support Practitioner

Our Client:
Established in the early 1950’s, our client was formed by a group of families who wanted more their children who lived with disability and had become marginalised by society. Over time the group grew to encompass community, employment, accommodation, training and more.
At this present time, our client is a leading, national NFP and they are a NDIS-registered provider supporting more than 1200 across WA. The have a strong focus on Specialist Behavioural Intervention Support (which includes intensive interventions to address significantly harmful or persistent behaviours) and Behaviour Management Plans (behaviour support plans and training in strategies).
The Exciting Opportunity:
We have 2 permanent positions available for SENIOR LEVEL BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT PRACTITIONERS in Perth and Geraldton.
If you have already received your Proficient Level Behaviour Support Endorsement, then we would love to speak with you. Alternatively, if you have worked at Core Level for several years and are on the verge of receiving your endorsement for Proficient Level, we would really love to hear from you.
Our client has a large Behaviour Support Team and has 3 advanced level practitioners along with 2 other proficient level practitioners and a team of Core Level practitioners so there is plenty of opportunity for ongoing growth and career progression.
You will be responsible for
- Getting to know your clients (mixed caseload) – meeting, listening and understanding what is important to them, things they enjoy, the choices they make, and what a good life looks like for them
- Restrictive Practices – Interim Behaviour Support/Safety Plan – this includes following all protocols and procedures for any regulated restrictive practices
- Creation of Evidence Based Behaviour Support Plan – this includes consultation with stakeholders, data gathering and analysis, behavioural functional assessment, support interventions, and protocol and procedures for any regulated restrictive practices
- Assessment – conduct assessments to identify behavioural challenges and their underlying causes
- Review of Current Plan – this includes full evaluation of a previous plan, consultation with stakeholders, data gathering and analysis, behavioural functional assessment and protocol and procedures for any regulated restrictive practices
- Supervising, coaching, training and mentoring Core Level Practitioners in the team
- Implement strategies that enhance clients’ skills, independence, and social engagement
- Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to caregivers, families, and other professionals
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour support strategies and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in line with organizational and NDIS guidelines
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic client care.

Selection Criteria:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner (min Core Level)
- Preferably be endorsed at Proficient Level or currently be ready to be endorsed at this level from Core
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other allied health profession
- Certification in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or willingness to complete PBS training
- Happy to travel out to visit your clients in the local community
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to a client-centered approach, cultural sensitivity, and ethical practice.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Driver’s License
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or challenging behaviours
