With a reputation for quality delivery, safety leadership, and strong client relationships, the business continues to secure high-profile projects across Queensland and is currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to join the team in Brisbane.
This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role in delivering significant projects while working with a well-resourced contractor known for excellence in construction delivery.
Position Overview
The Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with the Project Manager, construction team, subcontractors, and consultants, the Site Manager will oversee all on-site construction activities and coordinate multiple trades to ensure efficient project delivery.
Experience delivering Healthcare or Industrial projects will be highly regarded, though candidates with strong experience across other sectors will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Coordination
- Manage all on-site construction activities from commencement through to completion.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and site personnel.
- Ensure daily site operations run efficiently and in accordance with project schedules.
- Maintain clear communication with the Project Manager and senior leadership team.
- Conduct daily site meetings, toolbox talks, and coordination meetings.
Project Delivery
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within program milestones.
- Monitor and drive adherence to the construction program and sequencing of works.
- Identify potential delays and implement mitigation strategies.
- Assist with look-ahead planning and construction methodology.
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong site safety culture aligned with company and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with WHS legislation, site safety plans, and company policies.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
- Manage incident reporting and corrective actions where required.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure construction works meet design specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
- Oversee inspections, defect management, and quality control processes.
- Work closely with consultants and project engineers to resolve technical issues.
Subcontractor Management
- Manage subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to contract scope, safety standards, and timelines.
- Coordinate trade sequencing to optimise productivity.
- Monitor subcontractor workforce levels and productivity on site.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain positive working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Participate in progress meetings and reporting processes.
- Address site queries and provide technical input where required.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries, and progress reporting.
- Assist with procurement scheduling and material coordination.
- Monitor and report on site productivity, risks, and issues.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within a commercial construction environment.
- Experience delivering large-scale projects ($20M+).
- Healthcare or Industrial project experience highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of construction methodology, sequencing, and site management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commitment to safety leadership and compliance.
Qualifications
- Trade qualification or tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline (preferred).
- Current White Card.
- First Aid certification (desirable).
