Site / Project Engineer – Utilities
About the Company
Our client is a well-established civil contractor operating across South East Queensland, delivering complex infrastructure projects with a strong focus on utilities and water. With a reputation for technical capability and consistent project delivery, they specialise in works including pump stations, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and large-scale pipeline installations.
Due to continued project wins, they are seeking a Site Engineer or Project Engineer to join their growing team and play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure projects across the region.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Site Engineer or Project Engineer to step into a hands-on delivery role across a range of technically challenging utilities projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating day-to-day site activities across pipelines, pump stations, and treatment plant works
- Managing subcontractors, suppliers, and site crews to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently
- Monitoring project progress against program and assisting with short-term planning
- Supporting cost control, variations, and procurement processes
- Ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
You’ll work closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team, playing a key role in successful project outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- 2-6+ years’ experience as a Site Engineer or Project Engineer within civil construction
- Exposure to utilities projects, including water/sewer pipelines, pump stations, or treatment plants
- Experience working for a civil contractor
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, drawings, and specifications
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively on site
- A relevant engineering qualification (Civil Engineering or similar)
