Job Title: Social Worker – Youth Team (Aboriginal Health Focus)

Location: Regional, NSW

Salary: $51 to $60 per hour (depending on experience)

Join a newly created Youth Team, focused on supporting Aboriginal youth (ages 8-18) in Regional NSW. This hands-on role involves activities, working with young people in juvenile detention, and post-release programs. You’ll collaborate with doctors, psychologists, and health workers, delivering essential services including AOD education, sexual health hygiene, and family violence support.

As part of a growing team, you’ll run camps, boot camps, and educational activities while connecting youth to support services. This position offers relocation assistance and requires self-sourced housing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage directly with youth, delivering practical support.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Lead and participate in educational activities and support programs.
• Address complex issues like substance abuse, domestic violence, and sexual health.
• Assist in post-release transition from juvenile detention.

Key Requirements:

• Experience working with Aboriginal youth in a similar setting.
• Strong understanding of youth challenges, especially AOD and domestic violence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• AASW Registered
