Social Worker – Community Mental Health Clinician
Location: Wheatbelt, Western Australia (1 hour from Perth, CBD!)
Job Type: Part-time, DIDO position, accommodation provided
Salary: $86-95K PA, pro rata + super + salary packaging (dependent on experience)
About the Company
Our client is a respected leader in the healthcare sector, known for its mental health services. They are seeking a Social Worker to join their team and contribute to their Mental Health Suicide Prevention program, supporting young people and families across the Wheatbelt region.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to step into a dynamic outreach role offering both challenge and community impact.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing culturally safe, trauma-informed support to young people and their families across various settings (in-centre, telehealth, community).
* Conducting psychosocial and suicide risk assessments and determining care pathways.
* Strengthening family capacity through psychoeducation and safety planning.
* Collaborating with hospitals, GPs, and mental health services to ensure coordinated care.
* You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team and be a key part of delivering mental health services across the Wheatbelt region.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with young people in complex psychosocial environments.
* Experience in clinical and outreach/co-location service delivery.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with cultural competency in working with diverse and vulnerable groups (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, LGBTQIA+, and CaLD communities).
* Tertiary qualifications in Social Work (or Psychology or OT)
* Registration with a relevant professional body.
* A current ‘C’ class driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
* Flexibility to work one late shift per week and occasionally outside normal business hours.
