Underground Mining Engineer
Underground Mining Engineer – FIFO 8:6 (Perth)
I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a range of mid-tier and Tier 1 underground mining operations across Australia. These sites are looking for capable Underground Mining Engineers with solid operational exposure and a strong safety mindset. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience across high-quality operations while being rewarded with competitive pay and clear development pathways.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical and production support to underground operations

Develop and maintain mine designs, schedules, and development plans

Drill and blast design, charge plans, and performance analysis

Ground support design and monitoring

Liaise closely with operations, geology, and technical services teams

Ensure compliance with site safety systems, statutory, and regulatory requirements

Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities
Skills & Experience Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent)
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in underground mining operations
-
Strong understanding of underground mining methods and production processes
-
Experience with mine planning and scheduling software
-
Sound knowledge of drilling, blasting, ventilation, and ground support
-
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in site-based teams
-
Proven commitment to safety and risk management
