Waste Attendant

We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Waste Attendant to join a busy waste management facility based in Canning. This is an ongoing position offering full-time hours.

Key Highlights:

  • $40 per hour | Ongoing full-time work

  • Monday to Friday | 6am-3pm | 9-day fortnight

  • ASAP start | Outdoor, hands-on role

Duties:

  • Directing members of the public to the appropriate waste disposal zones.

  • Assisting customers with enquiries and providing clear waste disposal instructions.

  • Manually handling, lifting and moving waste materials around the site.

  • Sorting and separating general waste, recyclable materials and other waste streams.

  • Identifying and removing incorrectly disposed materials.

  • General labouring, sweeping, cleaning and clearing debris.

  • Keeping disposal areas clean, organised and safe for public use.

  • Working outdoors in a physically demanding environment.

  • Following site safety procedures and waste management guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Previous waste management, recycling or general labouring experience desirable.

  • Physically fit and comfortable with repetitive lifting, bending and manual handling.

  • Comfortable handling waste materials and working in an outdoor environment.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

  • Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.

  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening (DAS).

  • Clear National Police Check (NPC).

  • Full PPE – long-sleeve hi-vis shirt, long pants and steel cap boots.
